Best Italian Restaurant in Magnolia, Seattle

The bucatini alla amatriciana I had at Mondello is probably/certainly the best Italian dish I've ever had. And I've had this dish in Rome where it is a speciality. Amazing. Service was very quick and friendly and a great atmosphere in the outdoor seating. Highly recommended 👍

Perfect small Italian restaurant. Authentic food and kind staff, especially Ava! We were in Italy last fall, and this pasta was better than the pasta there! We also had a pistachio cheese cake that was light, fluffy, and incredible. The only thing that has scratched my itch for pistachio desserts since Italy. The cake is not pictured because it was too good to wait a moment for a photo!

This is actually the best & most authentic Italian restaurant I’ve ever had in Seattle, and I say that as someone who is 1/2 italian. I highly recommend! We tried the burrata, veal and the squid ink fettuccini with prawns, they were both amazing! Also the owner and staff is so kind and friendly, they even gave us 2 pieces of watermelon for free after our meal! :))

I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. The carbonara is absolutely amazing — rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service is very good and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. It has that cozy neighborhood Italian feel that’s hard to find, and it’s definitely become one of my favorite spots in Seattle.

Mondello's Restaurant is nestled under some apartments in Magnolia Village. When my son, his fiancée and I entered the charming restaurant, the owner Sophie greeted us warmly with "Ciao" and indulged my speaking Italian to her.
